Ch. 4: The Chasm (part 2)

While they were swimming to the cave, Will was running short on breath and was swimming slower. His elfin friends Render, and Levi noticed that he was falling behind so Levi used a spell to give him the ability to breathe under water. Once they made it to the cave they found (much to the relief of one very tired Render) that it was not filled with water and you could actually sit and rest (because there were no jagged rocks on the floor).

While they were resting Will saw something out of the corner of his eye. What he saw was a pirate, with a long, curved sword in her hand. “Be very quiet and follow me,” said Will by speaking in Render and Levi’s minds.

They slowly approached the pirate when a shorter pirate (also a girl) jumped on top of Levi! Will used a spell to bind the pirates feet and hands while Render was sword-fighting the other pirate. “Oh come on!” said Will. “You can finish this easy enough!” said Levi. “It’s not as easy as you might think,” said Render as he flung the pirate to the ground and bound her hands and feet with magic.

“Now,” said Render, “how did you two filthy buccaneers get to Alagasia?” “How did we get to Who’s-a-whatia?” replied the taller pirate. “This world or country or whatever it is!” said Will very angrily. “We were in a small cave off the coast of an uncharted island when we found ourselves in this cave.” said the shorter pirate. “They must be mad,” thought Render to his brother Leviticus. But then Leviticus said, “They must have come through a Chasm between worlds.”

Then Levi went into explaining what a chasm was. It is a small hole in the balance of dimensions that allows people or objects to pass between worlds. Chasms may stay open for any amount of time, which is why it was important for the pirates to get back to their world as soon as possible. The pirates were released from their magic bonds and they went back through the chasm into their world.

I am Aragorn

You are most like Aragorn. You have strong convictions and you stick to them. Although you are more of a recluse, you are extremely loyal to the few friends that you have. You are very serious about things, but you like having fun. Fame and fortune mean little to you, and you aren't concerned with being popular. Good for you!
