Ch. 4: The Chasm

One day aboard the Golden Dawn, Will with Render and Render’s brother Leviticus were sailing to a cave off the shore of their camp (for they did not like to live in a house of any sort). Will had noticed the cave when he and Baladon were flying to patrol the area for pirates.

“Let’s go swimming when we get there!” said Levi (which they called him because “Leviticus” is a long name to be saying over and over again). Will and Render agreed that as soon as they got there they would swim.

When they got to the island they lowered the anchor and swam to the shore. Most people would say they were insane to swim a mile to the shore, but they enjoyed it and besides, they did promise Levi they would go swimming.

While they were swimming Render saw a strange dark hole which, with the help of his elf eyes, he could tell was a cave. Will on the other hand was skeptical about this because he thought it could just be a rock. “Will,” said Render, “When have I ever led you wrong?” “You told me to put whipped cream on Levi’s face while he was asleep and he hit me over the head with his walking stick,” replied Will “Yes, but that was a joke, so it doesn’t count.”

So Will, Render, and Levi all swam down to the cave.
